Accessibility

Our commitment to a website and editorial experience that more people can use.

1. Our commitment2. Current features3. Known limitations4. Feedback and assistance

We aim for clear structure, keyboard access, visible focus, meaningful text, responsive layouts, and reduced-motion support.

1. Our commitment

The Hype Machine works to make its website usable by people with diverse abilities, devices, and assistive technologies. Accessibility is an ongoing practice rather than a one-time certification.

2. Current features

  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, and link text.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation and interactive story tabs.
  • Visible focus indicators and a skip link.
  • Responsive layouts and scalable text.
  • Alternative text for meaningful imagery.
  • Reduced animation when the device requests reduced motion.

3. Known limitations

Third-party email applications, linked sites, and services are outside our control and may provide different levels of accessibility. High-energy visual design can present challenges, so the site pairs neon accents with strong contrast and avoids conveying editorial meaning by color alone.

4. Feedback and assistance

If a page or feature is difficult to use, contact nohype@thisishypemachine.com or +1 719 827 9477. Please identify the page, the issue, your browser or assistive technology if relevant, and the format or accommodation that would help.
